Professor Huangxian Ju, born in November 1964, received his Bachelor of Science, Master and PhD degrees from Nanjing University in 1986, 1989 and 1992 respectively, and was then employed as a faculty member by Nanjing University. He worked as postdoctoral fellow at Montreal University in Canada from 1996 to 1997 and then was employed as a full professor at Nanjing University in 1999. He was awarded with a National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2003, Changjiang Scholar Professor by the Ministry of Education in 2007, the National Key Talents in The New Century and the chief scientist of the 973 project in 2009, and the special government allowance of the State Council in 2011. He is currently the director of the State Key Laboratory of Life Analytical Chemistry, a fellow of the International Electrochemical Society, a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a fellow of the Chinese Chemistry Society.

His research direction is molecular diagnosis and bioanalytical chemistry, and the main research fields include immunoassay, cell analytical chemistry, nanobiosensing, bioimaging and clinical molecular diagnosis. He has published 917 papers (858 papers in SCI journals, and 640 papers in journals with IF>5), and authored 46 patents, 6 English books, 7 Chinese books, 20 chapters for 11 Chinese and 9 English books, and 7 editorial, preface or book reviews. Up to 2024.4.30, his research works have 46167 citations in SCI journals (44391 by other authors) with an h-index of 106 (Google Scholar h-index 118,53400 by other authors).

He won the Young Chemistry Award (1996) and the Liang Shuquan Fundamental Research Award in Analytical Chemistry (2009) from the Chinese Chemical Society, the Young Scientist Award of Jiangsu Province Government (2001), and 2022 Advances in Measurement Science Lectureship Awards of American Chemical Society. He was awarded the first Leici Outstanding Achievement Award of Chinese Chemical Sensors in 2019; the first prize of Natural Science Prize by the Ministry of Education for 3 times in 2001, 2009, and 2013; the first prize(3 times in 2011, 2014 and 2016), the second prize(4 times in 2008, 2009, 2019 and 2022) and the third prize(2 times in 2015 and 2018) of Science and Technology Award by Jiangsu Province Government; the first prize of Science and Technology Award by Chongqing Government (cooperation) in 2017. He also won the first prize of the Science and Technology Award of the China Association of Analysis and Testing in 2008, 2009, 2014, and 2023 the third prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award by the Ministry of Education (second Completer) in 1995 and 1998.
