Biography:

Prof. Dr. Wieslaw Strek is employed at the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research of Polish Academy of Sciences in Wroclaw, Poland. Research activity includes theoretical and experimental studies on optical properties of rare earth and transition metal ions in crystal, glasses and nanostructures, laser spectroscopy, optical sensors, laser materials and graphene applications. Author and co-author of more than 800 scientific publications.  
He was a member of organizing committees of the International Conference of f-elements, International Conference on Luminescences, Rare Earth Spectroscopy, Excited States of Transition Elements, Winter Workshop on Spectroscopy and Structure of Rare Earth Systems, International Conference on Sol-Gel Materials, Tunable Solid State Lasers.
