Special Issue Information

Laser processing of aluminum alloys is widely used in various industries, including aerospace, automotive, and electronics, due to aluminum's lightweight, high strength-to-weight ratio, and excellent corrosion resistance. However, aluminum alloys present unique challenges in laser processing due to their high reflectivity, high thermal conductivity, and susceptibility to oxidation.

This special issue focuses on the new method to overcome the issue in laser processing of aluminum, the topic should include but not limited to the following topics:

  1. Laser additive manufacturing of aluminum
  2. Laser additive manufacturing of multiple materials, including aluminum
  3. Laser welding of aluminum
  4. Laser welding of aluminum to other materials

Keywords: aluminum; laser; additive manufacturing; welding
